This could be good. Or it could be just another POS with a slick looking trailer. Hey, the trailer isn’t even that slick, but I loved those people going whoosh. (While readying this post, I noticed this movie Catfish, which is also on the iamrouge.com website – seems interesting, but I know nothing about it, so I won’t say any more).
The story seems to be that aliens show up, aliens do bad stuff, people are scared.
I like Eric Balfour, but Dinoshark, Rise of the Gargoyles, Horsemen and The Spirit aren’t exactly blockbuster films. And Donald Faison? Is he going to be comedic relief?
I’m not really impressed with the use of Dan Rather and quoting the recent Stephen Hawking flapdoodle. I laughed, so I hope that is what they were going for. At least it shows someone pays attention to the news.
The directors (The Strause Brothers) previously directed Alien vs Predator: Requiem, which doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence. AVPR is a sort of fun monster movie, but no more than that. It probably wouldn’t even have that if we weren’t so familiar with the monsters. On the bright side, the Strause’s visual effects company had a hand in a ton of good looking pictures so we should expect the movie to look good. Though, admittedly, the trailer looks a little off. Maybe they’re still working out the kinks.
Ahhh, The Kinks. Those cats could wail (RIP Pete Quaife)
