That bumblefuck of a name represents that greatest of beasts, the camel-leopard hybrid. Camel-Leopard hybrid sounds way better than Giraffe, I guess. This could have been the Giraffedalids Shower. Easier to say, but not quite as mysterious.
Comet 209P/LINEAR could produce a meteor storm with wild predictions upwards of 200 per hour.
